Clean burn
Heavy engine manufacturers know that combustion efficiency is at the heart of a successful product. A clean-burning engine saves customers’ money, pollutes less and runs longer. The key to keeping an engine running clean is to know what it’s doing – collecting more data and sampling more often. Oxsensis sensors tolerate higher temperatures and pressures than any other sensor – meaning you can site them closer to the burn. Better data gives you the ability to implement better control strategies – on a cylinder-by-cylinder basis if required. Oxsensis sensors give you the high temperature and high pressure data that your existing sensor systems can’t supply.
Our technology has been developed in association with Rutherford Appleton laboratories, and has been proven in the heart of power station gas turbines. It is now available for gas and diesel piston engines of all types and roles – from multi-megawatt land based gas engines to heavy oil marine prime movers.
Oxsensis sensors offer unprecedented levels of control in the harshest of conditions. Our fibre optic sensors can go places where even the best electronic sensors will fail:
- Extreme temperatures of >1000C (1800F)
- Hostile / corrosive chemical environments
- High levels of electromagnetic interference
- Need for interrogation at a distance
- No electrical power available at the sensor head
