Executive Chairman - Martin Jay
Martin Jay CBE served as the Chairman of Invensys PLC from July 2003 to July 2009 and was Chairman of EADS U.K. until October 2006. He served as the Chief Executive Officer of VT Group PLC (Formerly Vosper Thornycroft Holding PLC) for thirteen years from 1989 to 2002 and then as Chairman until July 2005. Martin served as Group Managing Director of GEC Electronic Components and held a range of leadership positions at GEC.
Chief Executive Officer - Ian Macafee
As an engineer, Ian has considerable sales and commercial experience in the industrial and aero-derivative gas turbine world with his career beginning in Alstom and Rolls-Royce. In addition he brings understanding of the end customer requirements through his time at leading European utility RWE in asset development roles, and finally he joins Oxsensis from Alstom where he served as Business Development Director in the Steam Turbine Retrofit business.
Technology Advisor - Arnold Harpin
Arnold has over 20 years of progressive engineering and management experience within the silicon photonics and optoelectronics industries. Co-Founder of Oxsensis in 2003 and former Chief Scientist at Bookham (first member of the technical team in 1993). Physics graduate of Oxford University, author of numerous technical papers and sixteen patents. Arnold regularly presents at technical conferences including ASME. Arnold has experience over a wide range in integrated optics, optics and electronics, and is responsible for all optics and systems aspects at Oxsensis.
Engineering Director - John Drake
Co-Founder of Oxsensis in 2003 and former Process Development Manager at Bookham's silicon foundry. John, being part of the founding team at Bookham, was the original founding member of the processing team and developed the process, leading a large team of direct reports. Author of ten patents on silicon processing and devices, John also holds an MBA from Bath University with specialism in Operations Management, Outsourcing and Technical Management in the Supply Chain.
Finance Director - Patrick Cohen
Patrick joined Oxsensis in early 2008 as Finance Director bringing a wealth of financial experience, especially in fast growth companies and start ups. Prior to Oxsensis Patrick spent 7 years with Irish based NTR plc and its majority owned UK based start up Greenstar UK. He joined NTR as it transformed itself from a local Irish based toll road company to an international renewable energy group with a value of €1 billion. In 2003 Patrick joined NTR’s newly acquired majority owned UK subsidiary Greenstar and over the next four years saw revenue grow from £1 million to £60 million.
Technology Development Director - Stephen Fasham
Stephen is Oxsensis Technology Development Director and an experienced project manager and engineer with experience gained in both SMEs and multinational manufacturing companies. Prior to joining Oxsensis in Jan 2008 he was a research team leader for Sharp where he developed a new research theme on display illumination including managing a Technology Programme project to develop novel light sources for LCD illumination.
