i-Phire™ Series 100 & 200 Optical Interrogator Units

A sensor is little use without the ability to harvest the data it collects. The Oxsensis i-Phire™ 100 Series optical interrogator is designed to work with your Wave-Phire™ transducers, as well as with existing fibre-optic or electrical sensor heads, to create a complete sensing system for harsh environments.

The i-Phire™ 240 like its predecessor, the i-Phire™ 120, has the capability of measuring the size of an optical cavity in a block of sapphire that varies with applied pressure. In addition to this, the i-Phire™ 240 can also measure a second cavity which only varies with temperature. This new capability provides the temperature of the sensor, directly resulting in a second measurand from the same transducer point. The actual temperature measurement also establishes the ability to reduce any temeprature cross-sensitivities and thereby improve the pressure measurement. The signal processing module in the i-Phire™ 240 then filters the pressure signal to provide outputs for absolute pressure and dynamic pressure in addition to the temperature output, thus effectively providing 3 measurands from the same transducer.
