Quotes from MP during visit to MUST SME's

"It's fantastic to know that companies like Oxensis and QUDOS are working at Rutherford. To have such companies, working at the cutting edge of technology and possible world-beaters, based in my constituency makes me extremely proud. It is extremely important to nurture our innovative small technology companies through imaginative access to our national science base, and to advance key programmes such as SBRI"

New group MUST raise profile of SME's

A new group, Micro and Nano UK SMEs Together (MUST), has been launched. It has formed to represent the views, interests and issues facing SMEs that are involved in exploiting MNT.

“UK SMEs do not have strong enough representation or voice in comparison to academia, or large companies conveying the issues facing them,” said a press release to publicise the group’s formation. “Many non- SME organisations always seem to be too quick to speak on behalf of SMEs.”

MUST currently has 12 members. AML is initially leading the group while it works to become established. The plan for the future is that, as support gathers around a particular issue, a document will be drawn up and signed by the supporting members. The document will then be sent to the appropriate authority, such as the UK government, the European Commission or SEMI. SMEs are invited to join for free by contacting Rob Santilli (e-mail: MUST@aml.co.uk).
